Pebblechild
We are so pleased to have in stock the most gorgeous fair trade crochet baby rattles from Pebble Child. The simplicity of them makes them perfect for babies exploring this new amazing world around them. A knitted snake with a bell inside- so traditional but ever popular. All children love snakes. When my four year old came into my office I had the just delivered Pebble Toys spread out to price and admire them and the first thing he did was yell 'snakey!' and grab one of the knitted snakes to shake and cuddle. My favourites are the Pixie Rattle...

Kokonor
[gallery] Linda and I own a small workshop based in India in the beautiful hill station of Macleodganj, home to His Holiness the Dalia Lama. Currently we employ 7 Tibetan women who sew for us. The workshop is something that we are working hard to get off the ground. After having a lot of personal contact with the women we feel a great responsibility and affinity towards them all. Most are mothers, like us, who are supporting their family with the skills they have at their disposal- their hands. We pay the women a weekly wage, not by piece, so...
PRODUCT REVIEW: My Brave Knights
The boys have had Tim's swords for over a year now and they are their pride and joy. They have held up to some serious battles with dragons and knights and not so serious jousting with each other. When we gave the swords we had to have the discussion about rough play and how to use the swords in a creative, imaginative way. I have been suprised how little I have had to speak to them about the inappropriate use of the swords. These swords should be treated with the respect a serious knight would give his swords. We have...
EASY HOME CRAFTS: Weekend Boating
Children love a weekend project and these boats are perfect for summer. Look at photographs and pictures of boats for inspiration and draw some diagrams and plans. Take a trip to the hardware store for odds and ends that you need. All these steps add to the excitement of the boat building mission. Use scrap pieces of wood, sticks, nail, glue and string to make your marvelous cargo ships, cruise liners and fishing boats. This could turn out to be a whole weekend craft activity. Children can design and help with all parts of the construction. Pack up a picnic...
