Although nothing can really replace telling your children stories or singing songs to them, lets face it; we don’t have the energy to do that all the time. Sometimes we need some space and quiet time from the little darlings. Stories and songs on CDs are a lovely way for your child to sit and relax. If they have given up their sleep in the daytime they still might need to spend some time alone and you might need time to gather yourself for the afternoon, or think about dinner. Make this time a special moment in your child’s day....

As the days get longer children will be spending more time outside. How simple backyard fun can be when you put some pieces of wood in it! There is no need to limit yourself or your children to expensive playground equipment and swing sets when a few wooden tree blocks and planks can be used as traditional play items, like seesaws or can be moved around to make forts and castles. I have to mention again how beautiful our pencil rolls are. Our lovely ladies in India do such a perfect job on them; the fabric used is just so gorgeous. This has become my porridge of choice this winter. So warming and the smell in the kitchen is awesome Ingredients: 1 cup rolled oats 1 tbsp ghee (clarified butter) Small handful raisins Raw honey or organic sugar to taste 1 tsp cardamom and/or freshly grated ginger 1 tsp cinnamon powder 1 cup milk ½ to 1 cup hot water Method: Add the ghee to a pot and heat, when ghee becomes hot add fresh ginger, salt and raisins, cook until raisins swell and ginger releases aroma(this won't take long).
