Northern Sisters
The Northern Sea Sisters
We are two mums who met when our children were attending a Melbourne Steiner School. Since then we have been having cups of tea, crafting, chatting, laughing and crying together. The time seemed right for us to start sharing our crafting and with the planets in alignment we started producing our beautiful kits. We call ourselves the Northern Sea Sisters to celebrate our heritage from Scotland and Scandinavia and the winter crafting traditions of the northern hemisphere.
We use pure wool felt which we dye ourselves. Where possible the buttons, threads and oddments are found, recycled and/or handmade. The threads we use are either pure silk or cotton. The stuffing is pure wool fleece, sourced from organic farms in Victoria.
