| Kala Raksha Trust, a grassroots social enterprise, is dedicated to preservation of traditional arts.
Comprising artisans, community members, and experts in the fields of art, design and museums, Kala Raksha was founded on artisan initiative in 1993 in the desert region Kutch, in India.
This is the most beautiful Snakes & Ladders I have ever seen. The games is handmade by artisans who migrated from the Nagar Parker region of Sindh to Kutch. The board is a mini quilt of vegetable dyed fabric.
The counters of this game are hand made by a traditional leather worker, who also migrated from Sindh. Decorative punching was originally used to embellish the sturdy shoes worn by herders and farmers of the region.
